The Rust Africa Hackathon 2026

The Rust Africa Hackathon 2026 marks another milestone in our mission to empower African developers and showcase the continent’s rising influence in the global Rust ecosystem. At Rust Africa, we believe Africa is home to extraordinary talent. The 2026 Hackathon was created to spotlight this talent by giving developers across the continent a platform to build, experiment, and showcase what’s possible with Rust. By harnessing the power of Rust, we continue to contribute meaningfully to the global programming community while uplifting Africa’s role in shaping the language’s future.

Our mission is simple yet profound: to create an inclusive environment where participants can explore new ideas, gain invaluable insights, and develop solutions that elevate their skills. By showcasing our community’s creativity, we are emphasizing Africa’s vital role in the global advancement of the Rust programming language.
